TYPES OF VISA Application for entry to Kenya can be made online or at the point of entry if the applicant is not a National of a Country that require referred Visas and approval by the Director of Immigration Services.
For the Visa to be approved, the applicant must pay the relevant fees.
It’s important to note that the Visa processing fee is nonrefundable.
These include, Ordinary Visa, Transit Visa, Diplomatic Visa, Courtesy/ Official Visa and East Africa single Tourist Visa.
4.1 ORDINARY/VISITOR VISA
This type of Visa is issued to a person who wishes to enter Kenya for the purpose of a holiday, as a Visitor or any other temporary purpose.
The person wishing to enter Kenya must have their passports valid for a period of at least six months.
4.2 TRANSIT VISA
A Transit Visa is issued to a person whose nationalities require visas to enter Kenya who wishes to enter Kenya for the purpose of travelling to a destination that is outside Kenya. 27
The person must also be in possession of a valid document permitting them to enter the country of their other destination or is qualified under the Law of the Country to enter.
4.3 DIPLOMATIC VISA
This type of Visa is issued for single or multiple entry to holders of Diplomatic Passports who are on official duty.
4.4 COURTESY/OFFICIAL VISA
This type of visa is issued by the Director of Immigrations to persons holding Official or service Passports on Official duty and Ordinary persons who are not entitled to a Diplomatic Visa.
4.5 EAST AFRICA SINGLE TOURIST VISA
This is a new class of Visa that was introduced for Single Entry to persons whose Nationalities require visas to enter Kenya for Tourism and for onward Transit into the Republic of Rwanda or the Republic of Uganda.
